Prayer Request - Pray for my Mother
Prayer Request!
Please do pray for my mother, Leela V George who is getting prepared for an Angioplasty procedure at Max, Vaishali. She has been diagnosed with 4 arterial blocks and the option for an open heart surgery is being ruled out due to her age and past conditions.
She recently suffered a mild heart attack last week and has been admitted since.
She has been a fighter all her life, battling with health conditions since her open heart surgery back in mid 90's.
She is an inspiration to myself and many on how to live a life to the fullest. For all those who know my mother will agree how much of a staunch believer she is, the Doctor's then during her first surgeries stated she had a few years to live, but her faith in Jesus was so strong, she said her Lord will carry her through and she lived for next 24 years engaging in all sorts of social, religious activities and fellowships. There hasn't been a day in her life, where she hasn't worked hard and allowed a day to pass by doing nothing. A brilliant cook, homemaker and creative, hardworking individual who surely deserves to live longer in my eyes. So please DO PRAY FOR HER!
But how come an active individual suffers a heart attack and may come to the need of an Angioplasty?
I have seen many parents of my near and dear ones pass away in my lifetime in their late 40's, mid 50's and late 60's. They seemed healthy, fit and fine but then suddenly an illness took over and they unknowingly passed away.
I fear if it has happened to them, it can happen to us. Many lost their loved ones, during covid peaks. Many survived. So there is something that is making quite a difference. I am sharing all that I know so far. See if you can share it with your loved ones and help them live longer.
Living in a different country for the last 6 months has surely made a huge difference in my lifestyle but getting some strong Information about general health from my wife, who works at the NHS has given me a new perspective on how much we are not doing in order to live a healthy and long life.
Folks over here are 80+ and still going about their day with much enthusiasm and when i see my parents and known ones they are tired at 60. So what's the catch here?
1. Fresh Air : The air we breathe makes a huge difference to our health. There is a major contribution by pollutants and unclean environment leading to a shorter life span and hazardous health situations. The only solution is to move away from cities once retired into greener surroundings especially countryside or villages. It's a bit unreal to expect the air in the cities will get any cleaner any time soon.
2. Food & Drinks : Indians cannot digest food if there isn't adequate oil, butter and masala in it. Taste obviously conquers nutrition in a typical Indian diet. And with the global influence of Social Media the amount of Cheese and Sauces people are putting in their food, there is no chance of survival from a health hazard in the long run. Our diet affects almost 60% of our health. What we eat & drink decides how our body is growing and coping with daily physical and mental stress. Its always advised to prefer nutrition over taste but understanding the typical mindset its pretty difficult to make someone understand.
3. Exercise : Staying fit by working out, playing sports, exercising, walking, jogging, running, yoga, cycling, swimming, gym, physical work etc contributes to a healthy lifestyle. For those who cannot give up on taste, work rigorously to burn that extra fat and stay healthy. Ditching pvt vehicles for public transport also works somewhat as a physical exercise, but if living in a city with heavy mismanagement it's pretty difficult to lead a life with health in check.
4. Smoking & Alcohol : Avoid as much as possible, and if one cannot avoid, bring down the amount of consumption. Occasionally involving in smoking & drinking is somewhat acceptable for some, but the moment it becomes a habit, it's a health hazard with heavy consequences.
5. Regular Check ups : Now this is the main reason for writing such a long post. How many of us engage in regular Health Checkups? We don't, and that's why until we go down with an illness or sudden incident like a heart attack, paralysis and sometimes being diagnosed with cancer, tumor etc we realise our health was deteriorating all this while.
Sometimes it's too late for recovery & healing, but your timely involvement in certain medical procedures can help save your or someone's life.
Below is a list of tests my wife who is a registered nurse at NHS recommends for everyone :-
HBA1C - For Diabetic Profile & History
Lipid Profile - For Cholesterol
Troponin I & Troponin T - Heart condition
ACR & GFR - Kidney Functioning Test
ALP, ALT, AST - Liver Functioning Test
There are more but these can at least give you a fair idea of how your body is functioning and if you have any issues it can be treated and cured without further damage.
Most people avoid doing tests because they fear that if something comes up, they will have to go through heavy procedures and it's going to cost a lot of time, effort and money.
The only valid reasoning I will give is if you love your life and your life matters for even one single person in this world, then get these tests done regularly and keep a safe healthy check for yourself. It's better late than never.
I hope this message helps you to move healthier in life, do take care of your parents, if they are unable to get necessary medical attention, do the needful in time.
Lastly my mother has always prayed for everyone throughout her life, it's my humble request to please play for her, remember her and wish she recovers soon and retains her normal health & lifestyle.
Thankyou
Remember in Prayers
God Bless!
She is a high-end believer of Jesus and with full confidence.
